The ultra-compact PEBBLE spectrometers come in a VIS, VIS-NIR, and a NIR version. They combine small size with high resolution and sensitivity as well as environmental ruggedness and are the ideal OEM solution for all those handheld and portable system applications, where performance cannot be sacrificed to obtain compactness and/or low cost.
Using a diode array spectrometer for fluorescence spectroscopy can provide many benefits over optical filter-based instruments. If you use more than a few emission filters a diode array spectrometer can be less bulky, less expensive, and easier to use. Furthermore, by obtaining the full spectrum you get the possibility to deconvolute overlapping spectra and perform background and Raman subtraction. The latest CMOS diode arrays are even fast enough that you can perform flow cytometry measurements.
