Ibsen Upgrades Spectrometer Electronics for Low Noise BT-CCD Sensors

For immediate release

Press Release – Farum, May 17, 2021

Ibsen Photonics (www.ibsen.com), the global leader in fused silica transmission gratings and industrial grade spectrometer modules, today announced the new DISB-315 OEM electronics for their spectrometers using the S10420 back-thinned CCDs.

DISB-315 Electronics Board

The Digital Image Sensor Board DISB-315 offers low noise and a six times faster frame rate than the previous versions of electronics. In addition, DISB-315 comes with the same universal SPI interface, as our other DISB boards, which makes it ideal for easy integration into your instrument. Furthermore, the board offers programmable lamp/shutter control.

The spectrometers can be supplied with a compact DISB-USB bridge stacked on top of the DISB-315. The DISB-USB enables operating the spectrometer through the use of a standard FTDI FT422H chip.

Ibsen’s new DISB-315 electronics supports the S10420 BT-CCD detector arrays from Hamamatsu and works with Ibsen’s FREEDOM 305/315 spectrometers.

“DISB-315 offers a high performance, cost-effective, and low-risk solution for manufacturers of handheld and portable spectroscopy instruments and saves them valuable time-to-market by not having to develop their own electronics”, says Thomas Rasmussen, VP of Sales & Marketing at Ibsen Photonics.
