Envision yourself boosting the sales of leading-edge spectrometers in a successful company with a large growth potential

Are you passionate about B2B sales of optical modules?
Are you driven by finding and qualifying new leads every day?
…and are you looking for an opportunity to take an already successful business to new heights?
Then we might have a position for you.

We are looking for an International Sales Development Manager to identify sales opportunities and grow our sales of our high quality, industrial-grade spectrometers to major global scientific, medical, industrial and pharmaceutical instrument manufacturers in Europe and Asia/Pacific.

You’ll be part of an organization that have five-doubled its sales since 2014, to reach 141 MDKK in 2021, and employ 85 people at our R&D and manufacturing facility close to Copenhagen, Denmark. We have ambitious plans to grow the business further – Plans where you will play a key role.

The role of International Sales Development Manager

Reporting to the VP of Sales at Ibsen, you will be measured on your ability to identify new sales opportunities and grow our revenue within your assigned regional responsibility.

The full sales cycle typically extends over a period of 1-5 years, beginning with the design of a customized spectrometer in the early phase of product development, and extending through product testing and regulatory approval to product launch and volume production. Your focus will be on the initial part of the sales cycle, i.e. securing new sales and development projects that in turn develop into recurring revenue.

As International Sales Development Manager you will be responsible for

  • Identifying and winning new projects and accounts
  • Growing the existing business within your regional responsibility
  • Supporting our development of new solutions to solve customer needs

You’ll join an expanding sales team that by end 2022 will count a total of 5 sales representatives and a number of distributors.

We imagine you are located in Europe. If you are not located in the vicinity of our HQ in Denmark, you will need to work from your home office. You can expect approx. 80-100 travelling days per year.

Your background and skills

The ideal candidate has a natural sales talent, complemented by an educational background within sales and/or engineering. You get your energy from finding and closing new sales opportunities, as well as nurturing existing customers. It is a must that you come with solid B2B sales experience from selling technical complex products.

Also, you should be able to tick the boxes below:

  • Possess a proactive and energetic personality with a strong desire to talk to new customers every day
  • Be creative around where our solutions can bring value, and how we can highlight this value to the customer
  • Be patient and have perseverance, since our sales cycles are long, and the windows of opportunity for new projects can be narrow

We expect you to be fluent in written and spoken English. Additional languages are an advantage, while Danish is not a prerequisite.

Why should you choose us?

Working within sales, one normally finds inspiration in the growth journey, and here our numbers need no further comments, although they cannot stand alone.

A key parameter for why the Ibsen team enjoys going to work every day, has to do with our culture. You will be part of a well-run and flat organization where decision-making and execution is key. We have a good and friendly work environment and our employees take pride in what they do. Furthermore, customer focus permeates our organization, making it even more exciting to join the sales team.

Application

If you believe you are the right candidate for the position, please send your CV and cover letter to humanresource@ibsen.com. We are looking to recruit as soon as possible but will keep the position open until we have found the right candidate.
