Press Release – Copenhagen, June 14th, 2010

For immediate release

Copenhagen, Denmark – June 14th, 2010. Ibsen Photonics (www.ibsenphotonics.com), a global leader in fused silica, transmission gratings and spectrometer modules, today announced the ROCK series of industrial grade, robust OEM spectrometers for the VIS, Short-wave NIR, and NIR wavelength ranges. The ROCK spectrometers enable low-power sensing and fast spectral scans due to a high optical throughput. The special optical bench design furthermore allows for easy access to the detector. This feature enables customers to re-use their existing electronics for new equipment and thereby avoid expensive and time-consuming re-engineering.

“The ease of integration of our electronics with Ibsen Photonics’ OEM spectrometers has enabled FOSS to bring several new products to the market much faster than we have experienced in the past”, says Niels Degn, Senior Manager at FOSS.

The ROCK spectrometers are using Ibsen Photonics’ holographic, fused silica transmission gratings which provide 50 – 100% higher diffraction efficiency and lower stray light than traditional spectrometer gratings. Furthermore, the exclusive use of dielectrics in the optical path enables the ROCK spectrometers to be used in challenging environmental applications – for instance at high temperatures.

VP of the Module Business unit at Ibsen Photonics, Bjarke Rose, adds, “I am excited that we can now leverage our experience from several large industrial OEM spectrometer projects to introduce the ROCK series of standard products.”
